I recently had the opportunity to visit the Kohler Experience in Kohler, Wisconsin. I had three fun days learning all about Kohler and Sterling products.
My room had an air tub with body sprays I could hardly wait to try. First I got to try out the VibrAcustic tub. It was relaxing to sit in a tub that played music while feeling the vibrations move through my body. The chromatherapy lights were so soothing.
I visited the Design Center to see all the products in one place. I enjoyed the “Great Wall of China”, a wall filled with Kohler’s china products. The next day I had a factory tour to see how the products are made. Some of these talented people working there are third generation. Some products are made by machines but some are made by hand. It was three hours and three mile walk but it was worth it. My last day was filled with classes on all the product lines.
As a designer I’ve learned to “change with the times”. If we can’t grow as designers we become obsolete. It was a great learning experience that I will apply to my design experience at R.J. Tilley to meet the needs of our clients.
Visit R.J. Tilleys Facebook page to see a photo album of pictures from The Kohler Experience.
